Opioid Crisis Expert and Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, Dr. John Rosa Warns Readers That The Holidays Will Be Heartbreaking For Many Families

addiction

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert and owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, talks about the newly released opioid death statistics which he brings to life by predicting that hundreds of Americans will suffer a heartbreaking holiday season as a result of the growing epidemic.

ROCKVILLE, MD. December 20, 2018: Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics and opioid crisis expert, Dr. John Rosa, posted a new blog on his website entitled, “Hundreds Will Have A Heartbreaking Instead Of A Happy Holiday Season,” in which Dr. Rosa posts recently updated opioid death figures from the Centers for Disease Control.

Dr. Rosa writes, “I can’t tell you who those dear souls will be, but with opioid overdoses at an all-time high, there are more than 200 people dying every single day in this country. So, it’s a fact that many families are going to be grieving instead of celebrating this holiday season.”

“At the end of November,” says Dr. Rosa, “the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released new figures showing that “drug overdoses killed more than 70,000 Americans in 2017, a record.” The report states that, “Overdose deaths are higher than deaths from H.I.V., car crashes or gun violence at their peaks. The data also show that the increased deaths correspond strongly with the use of synthetic opioids known as fentanyls.”

Dr. Rosa points out that, “While a majority in this country who are Christians will be celebrating the birth of Jesus, hundreds will be mourning the death of someone who brought light, love and laughter into their lives. The most heartbreaking thing of all is finding a way to stop the rising death toll, to stop the addiction.”

Opioid Crisis Expert and Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, Dr. John Rosa Urges Readers To Refuse Opioid Pills For Pain Management

opioid crisis

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert and owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, addresses the beginning of the use of opioids for pain management and what we know today, clarifying that reversing the trend is not going to happen with another pill.

ROCKVILLE, MD. November 29, 2018: Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics and opioid crises expert, Dr. John Rosa, posted a new article on his website entitled, “Just Say No To Pills, Pills, And More Pills,” in which Dr. Rosa reveals that the pills create more pain than they relieve.

Dr. Rosa questions, “Do we really think all it takes to effectively reverse the effects of one pill is another pill? Really? What are we doing?” He emphatically states, “We must get over the idea that pills are magic.” He goes on to add, “We must remember what Einstein said. First of all, he said that insanity is when we keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome. And secondly, he said we cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it.”

According to Dr. Rosa, “This is why if we are to effectively stem and eventually stop the opioid epidemic in this country, we must stop believing that pills are magic.” He elaborates, “We must turn our attention to the amazing healing abilities of our bodies and we must give them the time they need to heal. Healing is not an instantaneous process. I know that’s difficult for a society that wants instant gratification to hear, but it’s the truth and it’s the only way to effectively put an end to the opioid crisis in this country.”

Referring to the opioid crisis that plagues the nation, Dr. Rosa says, “Just look at how it all got started, then see if you think it can be turned around with a pill.” He writes, “According to drugabuse.gov, “In the late 1990s, pharmaceutical companies reassured the medical community that patients would not become addicted to prescription opioid pain relievers, and healthcare providers began to prescribe them at greater rates. This subsequently led to widespread diversion and misuse of these medications before it became clear that these medications could indeed be highly addictive.”

“Slowly, but surely,” says Dr. Rosa, “we began seeing the opioid overdose rates increase. According to the government statistics, “In 2015, more than 33,000 Americans died as a result of an opioid overdose, including prescription opioids, heroin, and illicitly manufactured fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid. That same year, an estimated 2 million people in the United States suffered from substance use disorders related to prescription opioid pain relievers, and 591,000 suffered from a heroin use disorder (not mutually exclusive).”

“Today we know so much more about opioids and addiction,” says Rosa. He lists a number of statistics one of which states that, “About 80percent of people who use heroin first misused prescription opioids.”

Opioid Crisis Expert and Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, Dr. John Rosa Suggests Patients Ask Doctors For Alternatives To Pills For Pain Relief.

addiction

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert and owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, calls for the beginning of the end of the opioid crisis by telling readers that pills are not the answer to pain relief.

ROCKVILLE, MD. November 21, 2018: Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics and opioid crises expert, Dr. John Rosa, posted a new blog on his website entitled, Pain Needs A New Approach Not A Pill.” Dr. Rosa urges readers to be strong in the face of pain.

“We are a society looking for solutions in a pill,” writes Dr. Rosa. He continues, “We want a pill to end our anxieties, to address every single ache and pain we feel in our bodies. And we want it now! We are a country that insists on instant gratification.” He emphasizes, “That insistence has led us into one of the most dangerous epidemics in history. The opioid epidemic.”

Dr. Rosa points out that, “More than 120 people die every single day from opioid overdoses.” “Some of these deaths are accidental,” he says adding, “and some are intentional. Many of those who die as a result of opioids are our young people. Pain relief does not come in pill form. There are so many other ways to address the pain that we humans are subject to.”

According to Dr. Rosa, “An addiction to opioids starts out innocently enough.” He elaborates, “Perhaps you have to have a surgery and the doctor prescribes pain pills to help you through the healing phase. But then, you feel so good on the pain pills that you convince your doctor you are still in tremendous pain and he or she gives you another prescription.” Another way addiction begins according to Dr. Rosa, “especially among our children,” he says, “is when they go looking for pills in their parents’ medicine cabinet. They find unused pills and start taking them.”

Opioid Crisis Expert and Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, Dr. John Rosa Talks About Being Present When The President Signed New Opioid Prevention Legislation

opioid crisis

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert and owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, gives an overview of some of the benefits of the sweeping legislative package to curb the opioid crisis signed by the President.

ROCKVILLE, MD. November 15, 2018: Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics and opioid crises expert, Dr. John Rosa, posted a new article on his website entitled, “New Legislation Aims To Curb Opioid Crisis.” Dr. Rosa reports on his presence at the President’s signing of new legislation to curb the opioid crisis.

Dr. Rosa writes, “On Wednesday, October 24, I had the honor of being present when the President signed into law a sweeping legislative package that lawmakers and public health experts alike believe will help curb the growing opioid crisis in the United States.” He continued, “In addition, my work on the opioid crisis was recognized by the White House during the signing ceremony. I was also encouraged to continue my work by the Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, James Carrol, Chair of the Opioid and Drug Abuse Commission, Governor Chris Christie and Counselor to the President, Kellyanne Conway. They each generously offered their help on a major new project I am currently working on.”

“It is good to know,” says Dr. Rosa, “that the new legislative package directs funding to federal agencies and individual states to make greater access to addiction treatment a priority.” He elaborates, “In addition, the new legislation sets in place interventions to help mitigate the crisis, like preventing over-prescription and training law enforcement to intercept shipments, including the deadly and highly addictive drug fentanyl, at U.S. borders.”

“The work I am engaged in and promoting,” writes Dr. Rosa, “involves education in the use of non-pharmacological strategies to decrease pain, increase mobility, and limit the use of narcotic medications. This holistic approach includes such strategies as early intervention with good judicious integrative medicine. Integrative approaches include chiropractic care, acupuncture, diet/nutrition evaluation and behavioral therapies.”

According to Dr. Rosa, “Based on models that have proven successful in private practice throughout the country, The Department of Health and Human Services will now oversee a grant program to expand the use of “comprehensive recovery centers.” The programs include job training, mental health services and housing alongside addiction treatment.”

Opioid Crisis Expert and Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, Dr. John Rosa Writes About The Increasing Death Rates Due To The Opioid Epidemic

addiction

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert and owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics, provides an overview of the opioid crisis in America and how it began. He encourages readers to seek help for themselves and those they love who may be addicted.

ROCKVILLE, MD. November 8, 2018: Owner of Accessible Beltway Clinics and opioid crises expert, Dr. John Rosa, posted a new blog on his website entitled, “America Is Hurting, Hooked And Needs Healing” in which Dr. Rosa offers startling statistics and a place to turn for help.

Dr. Rosa writes, “Without question, this country is hooked on drugs.” He continues adding, “Not just the lost, young souls. I’m talking about business executives, celebrities, people of wealth and position in society and their children. I’m talking about the average, honest, hard-working person who contributes to society and pays his and her taxes.”

Dr. Rosa emphasizes, “This addiction crisis didn’t begin as a result of curiosity and experimentation with drugs. It began primarily as a result of some injury or surgery for which a doctor prescribed a pill to relieve pain.” “Innocently enough,” he adds, saying, “yes, but then the doctors decided it was easier to prescribe a pill than it was to alleviate pain through other methods that may have taken longer but would have returned the patients to a state of true health. And, of course, the patients loved the euphoria of being pain free and having their minds altered. But, they didn’t realize their minds were being altered.”

“According to recent statistics,” says Dr. Rosa, “more than two million Americans have become dependent on or have abused prescription pain pills and street drugs. These drugs are opioids.”
