National Opioid Crisis Expert, Dynamic Speaker And Author, Dr. John Rosa Shares Important Information About How Medical Research Is Conducted And By Whom.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker provides educational information that can help people understand how medical research is most often conducted and who the research most often benefits.

ROCKVILLE, MD. October 19, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new blog on his website entitled, “We Tend To Trust Medical Research Without Question And Often At Great Peril,” in which Dr. Rosa reveals that the general public is in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to trusting what is touted as “medical science.”.

Dr. Rosa writes, “In my ongoing research for educational material to share with my patients, those who follow me on social media and anyone who happens upon my articles and blogs, I recently came across some very interesting information to share with you.” He adds, “I truly hope it gives you pause and makes you think more deeply about how ‘scientific research’ is often conducted, by whom and what ultimately gets presented to the public.”

According to Dr. Rosa, “The topic is about studies done to prove the effectiveness of pharmacological products versus alternative medical treatments. The article I am drawing from and referencing begins, “We’re often told that alternative medicine is unproven and pharmacological treatments are well validated. Is this true?” https://www.paintreatmentdirectory.com/posts/can-we-trust-the-science

“What a great question,” Dr. Rosa states, adding, “and one that should be asked and researched frequently.”

Dr. Rosa writes, “I implore you to investigate further by reading the article in its entirety. You can access it here: https://www.paintreatmentdirectory.com/posts/can-we-trust-the-science

Dr. Rosa adds, “The author states, “We need to recognize that claims of pharmaceutical safety and effectiveness are often overblown, and the benefits of alternative therapies are often minimized. We need to ask, “What does the promoter or disparager of this treatment have to gain or lose?” In response to the author’s question Dr. Rosa states, “I would like to point out one on the most disturbing facts about research and especially research funded by those who benefit from positive results. The most important and never asked question in research “Where is the journal that prints all the failed or negative outcome studies?” “Sadly,” he adds, “this journal doesn’t exist, and if it did there would be only a handful of drugs that would ever make it to market.”

Shares More Information About The AMA Of Which Most People Are Unaware.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker shines the light on some of the questionable practices of the American Medical Association (AMA) in his quest to end widespread addiction, pain and suffering.

ROCKVILLE, MD. August 17, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new article on his website entitled “What The AMA Endorses People Believe In,” in which Dr. Rosa brings to light unholy information about a “hallowed” institution.

Dr. Rosa states, “As I continue to share information about the American Medical Association (AMA) as reported in a very lengthy and thorough article on MotherJones.com, I want to reiterate that what most people think of as an institution concerned with the well-being of the American public could not be further from the truth.” He continues, “The AMA was the biggest supporter of the tobacco industry knowing for 30 years prior to the surgeon general’s warning, that smoking was a health hazard and addictive, all the way up until it became absolutely impossible for them to maintain that stance. Then they supported big pharma knowing how addictive and deadly opioids are when misused and abused until once again, it was morally impossible for them to support the industry.”

“As a chiropractor with a desire to end addiction and help ease pain and suffering through working with the body’s incredible healing potential,” Dr. Rosa writes, “I will continue my research into the various organizations that hold sway over politicians and the American public.” He emphasizes, “Especially those organizations and the industries they support that create and promote products that are harmful to our health.”

The Greatest Marketing Gimmick: The AMA “Seal Of Acceptance”

Rosa indicates that he considers the AMA “Seal of Acceptance” “the greatest marketing gimmick.” His explanation by way of MotherJones.com. “In its earliest days after its founding in 1847, the AMA reportedly “had just a few thousand members and a paltry budget for its first half-century of existence.” Rosa continues adding, “But that changed once the organization concocted a campaign offering their “Seal of Acceptance” to drugs, foods, and other items that met certain purity and transparency standards.” According to the MotherJones.com article, “Critics argued that the approval wasn’t based on particularly rigorous standards, but companies boasted about the AMA’s approval in JAMA (Journal of American Medical Association)
advertisements and in their promotion more broadly.” Apparently back in the early 1930’s, Land O’Lakes was granted the “Seal of Acceptance” even while they were facing federal charges “for selling adulterated butter and eggs.” But that seal cured their “paltry budget.” By1948, JAMA subscriptions and advertising were bringing in $4.9 million in revenue.

National Opioid Crisis Expert, Dynamic Speaker And Author, Dr. John Rosa
Shows How The AMA First Supported Then, Under Pressure Turned On The Tobacco industry.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker continues to delve into the history of the AMA revealing their intimate relationship with the tobacco industry prior to their relationship with the opioid industry.

Dr. Rosa states, “This month, as I continue to reveal the darker side of the AMA, I’m going to travel back in history to show how intimately involved they were with the tobacco industry. So,” he adds, “keep in mind the recently revealed cozy relationship with the pharmaceutical industry (see last month’s blog The American Medical Association Is Not What You Think It is) as we choke on the facts from the past, regarding the so called “unified voice” of America’s doctors who claim to be “dedicated to the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health.” Dr. Rosa continues emphasizing, “Smoking is the #1 addiction in the world and as I research the AMA, FDA, Government and corporate pay-to-play relationships it goes back much longer than the opioid crisis.” He adds, “Pharmaceutical companies are just the next cash cow to join the influence parade.

“A half century ago,” writes Dr. Rosa, “way back in 1964, the surgeon general issued a landmark report concluding that smoking causes cancer. The Federal Trade Commission immediately called for warning labels to be put on cigarette packages.” He emphasizes, “But there was strong opposition from – you guessed it, the holiest of holies, the American Medical Association! The AMA opposed the label despite the thousands of tests, doctors and individual medical societies in favor of it.”

As Dr. Rosa points out, “The AMA’s position on smoking was, “There is no further need for educational statements to the youth.” Which was the exact stance of the tobacco industry.” He continues, “The AMA boasted about the fact that their journal, JAMA, stopped running cigarette ads in the 1950’s even though their collaboration with the tobacco industry continued for decades. In fact, the AMA launched a massive research partnership with six tobacco companies in an attempt to disprove the surgeon general’s warning. These six companies gave $18 million dollars to the AMA (1964 mind you!) over the next decade for this research.”

National Opioid Crisis Expert, Dynamic Speaker And Author, Dr. John Rosa
Writes About The Healthy Benefits Of Sun Exposure Especially For Those Addicted To Opioids And Encourages Regular Exposure To Sunshine.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker shares current research about death tolls from vitamin D deficiency, new CDC understanding about the sun and the use of sunscreen and how boosting levels of vitamin D from sun exposure could eliminate opioid addiction.

ROCKVILLE, MD. August 20, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new article on his website entitled “Consider The Sun A Good Friend And Spend A Little Time With It Regularly.” Dr. Rosa covers a lot of information and shares valuable research in his latest article

Dr. Rosa acknowledges, “I don’t know if the numbers of deaths as a result of insufficient Vitamin D levels include those who died of drug overdoses or not, but either way the numbers are pretty shocking. “Studies in the past decade indicate that insufficient sun exposure may be responsible for 340,000 deaths in the United States and 480,000 deaths in Europe per year, and an increased incidence of breast cancer, colorectal cancer, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, autism, asthma, type 1 diabetes and myopia.”
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7400257/

As Dr. Rosa notes, “More recently scientists and researchers are studying the effects of Vitamin D on addiction with interesting and hopeful conclusions.” He shares some research conclusions, “After analyzing human data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the researchers found that those with insufficient vitamin D levels (less than 20 ng/ml) were more likely to use opioid painkillers and more likely to be diagnosed with an opioid use disorder than those with sufficient vitamin D levels.” https://www.paintreatmentdirectory.com/posts/vitamin-d-deficiency-increases-risk-of-opioid-addiction-and-worsens-withdrawal-symptoms

“Could it possibly be that a daily dose of sunshine could decrease the daily desire or need for opioids?” Dr. Rosa asks. He follows up with another question. “And, if that is the case, is it possible to convince those who are currently dependent on opioids to expose themselves to the sun on a daily basis?” He continues adding, “I understand the difficulty this poses with the elderly who are bedridden, however, the younger, still functioning population are the more likely targets for this type of therapy.”

Dr. Rosa reminds readers, “We have turned into a society who shuns the sun. We’ve become terrified of the life-giving properties of the sun. We’re more afraid of skin cancer than we need to be.” He elaborates, “Recent research is showing that using sunscreen is not preventing melanoma, but it is depriving those who use it of making Vitamin D. He shares, “For the past 50 years, in the name of skin cancer prevention, the CDC has advised the American public to avoid sun exposure and to apply sunscreen daily even on cloudy days. During that time, the incidence of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, has increased by 300%, indicating that the CDC’s understanding of the relationship between skin cancer and sun exposure is incorrect. Scientific discoveries in the 21st Century have shown that insufficient sun exposure has become the nation’s second largest public health problem after cigarette smoking.”

National Opioid Crisis Expert, Dynamic Speaker And Author, Dr. John Rosa
Reveals That The Hallowed American Medical Association (AMA) May Not Be What Most People Think It Is.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker delves into the history of the AMA and its most recent cozy relationship with big pharma and Purdue Pharma specifically and promises more cozy relationships dating back to its earliest days.

ROCKVILLE, MD. August 18, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new blog on his website entitled, “The American Medical Association Is Not What You Think It is.” Dr. Rosa shares information that sheds new light on the AMA.

Dr. Rosa states, “I think it is a fairly common belief among most people that the American Medical Association (AMA) is an organization that is meant to have the best interest of the healthcare concerns of the public at large in mind.” He goes on to say, “The AMA bills themselves as “the “unified voice” of America’s doctors dedicated to “the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health.” “However,” he continues, “when you look closely you will see that the AMA functions more like a trade organization, which is defined as: a voluntary association of business firms organized on a geographic or industrial basis to promote and develop commercial and industrial opportunities within its sphere of operation, to voice publicly the views of members on matters of common interest, or in some cases to exercise some measure of control over prices, output, and channels of distribution.”
https://www.britannica.com/topic/trade-association

According to Dr. Rosa, “Developing commercial opportunities, controlling prices and channels of distribution can be so clearly seen in the relationship between Purdue Pharma and the AMA particularly between 2002 and 2018 when the AMA’s philanthropic arm, the AMA Foundation received more than $3 million from Purdue Pharma. In case you don’t remember, “ he explains, “Purdue Pharma developed Oxycontin and spent millions of dollars telling the world that opioids aren’t addictive.”

National Opioid Crisis Expert, Dynamic Speaker And Author, Dr. John Rosa
Writes About The Most Abundant Source Of Help For Opioid Use Disorder That Is Absolutely Free.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker writes about findings that indicate Vitamin D deficiency may be a major factor in opioid addiction and that fear of the sun, which makes Vitamin D in the human body, is the cause of numerous other health concerns too.

ROCKVILLE, MD. July 28, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new article on his website entitled, “From Drug Addicts To Sun Worshipers…It Could Happen,” in which Dr. Rosa encourages careful sun exposure for opioid users and abusers.

Dr. Rosa states, “Without the sun, there would be no life on planet earth. Without the sun, our bones would not be strong.” He continues, “The sun is what makes Vitamin D in our bodies. It was making Vitamin D before any company was making vitamin D supplements, so don’t start pushing back yet. And now,” he adds, “the sun may be responsible for helping people curb and potentially stop craving opioids. Recent studies are pointing to this as a very strong possibility.”

Dr. Rosa suggests, “Consider the following statements: “Vitamin D deficiency (italics mine) strongly exaggerates the craving for and effects of opioids, potentially increasing the risk for dependence and addiction, according to a new study led by researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). These findings, published in Science Advances, suggest that addressing the common problem of vitamin D deficiency with inexpensive supplements could play a part in combating the ongoing scourge of opioid addiction.” https://neurosciencenews.com/vitamin-d-deficiency-opioid-sun-seeking-addiction-18612/

According to Dr. Rosa, “We Americans are extremists. If we find out a little bit of something is good for us, we tend to think more will be even better. But that is not the case.” He continues, “In fact, one of the worst examples of this kind of thinking is present in the prescribing of opioids. Some doctors actually believe that the more opioids they give their patients the better off they will be. (If you want to see what I mean, tune into the Netflix documentary The Crime of The Century.) So, please do not think that because I’m suggesting a little bit of sun that an extreme amount is going to be better. And,” he states, “for those who are gasping at the idea because of skin cancer, let me assure you, there is a tremendous amount of evidence that is suggesting our fear of the sun is causing even greater health concerns.”

“In fact,” writes Dr. Rosa, “the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has this to say on the subject. “While it is accepted that solar UVR exposure is the main cause of skin cancer, evidence is accumulating on the health benefits of sun exposure, as well as widespread vitamin D deficiency, and has revealed a possibly significant public health problem resulting from insufficient sun exposure. This suggests that current public health advice on sun exposure ought to be reconsidered to communicate a better balance of the benefits and harms of sunlight, particularly at higher latitudes where ambient levels of UVR are comparatively low even in summer.” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7400257/

According to Dr. Rosa, “Chances are, if you do not spend much time outdoors with skin exposed to the sun and you are not supplementing, your vitamin D levels are most likely insufficient.”

National Opioid Crisis Expert, Dynamic Speaker And Author, Dr. John Rosa
Reports On A Recent Study That Indicates Vitamin D Could Be Integral In Conquering Opioid Use Disorder.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker shares information from a recent study in which Vitamin D deficiency is being seen as having positive effects on reducing the craving for opioids.

ROCKVILLE, MD. July 14, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new blog on his website entitled, “Opioid Addiction Could Be Curtailed By The Most Important Vitamin Under The Sun.” Dr. Rosa expresses his excitement about the results of a recent and important study.

Dr. Rosa states, “This country has been struggling with opioid addiction at epidemic proportions for the last three decades.” He continues adding, “According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, as of 2018, approximately 10.3 million people aged 12 or older had misused opioids in the past year, and 2 million had an Opioid use disorder (OUD).” https://advances.sciencemag.org/content/7/24/eabe4577

“But” Dr. Rosa asks, “how do we turn the tide? How do we help people successfully conquer addiction?” He doesn’t have the answer, though he offers, “I’ve been working tirelessly to find the answer to this question and educate people about alternative methods to control pain. I’ve been making appeals at the highest levels of government to enact legislation to amend easy access to opioids. So,” he goes on to say, “I have to admit that recent news about a study in which Vitamin D deficiency is being looked at as having the potential to increase the risk of dependency and addiction to opioids is pretty thrilling. That means that increasing Vitamin D levels could reduce the craving for the drug.”

According to Dr. Rosa, “The findings of the study, published in Science Advances, suggest that addressing the common problem of vitamin D deficiency with inexpensive supplements could play a part in combating the ongoing scourge of opioid addiction.” https://neurosciencenews.com/vitamin-d-deficiency-opioid-sun-seeking-addiction-18612/

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker talks about how Nu-Life Solutions represents his dream of minimally invasive, non-pharmaceutical pain management treatments coming to fruition and how honored he is to be part of the solution.

ROCKVILLE, MD. June 23, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new article on his website entitled, “Pain Management Enters An Exciting New Era,” in which Dr. Rosa highlights his invitation and acceptance to be part of an exciting company bringing pain management into a new era.

Dr. Rosa writes, “To say that I am excited and honored to be selected to be part of the Executive Medical Leadership team at Nu-Life Solutions is truly an understatement.” He continues, “This historic company is bringing advanced technology to the realm of addiction and pain management. No surgery, no pills, no more pain.”

As Dr. Rosa points out, “I was invited to join the team and did so us in October 2020. My efforts to bring non-surgical and non-pharmacological options for controlling pain to the forefront is being realized by this exciting new technology.” He elaborates on his role, “I will participating in global clinical operations and I have enthusiastically assumed the leadership role in The H.O.P.E. Initiative to treat those suffering from opioid addiction.”

“Over the past 8 years,” Dr. Rosa says, “I have witnessed the devastation that the opioid crisis has delivered to the U.S. and abroad.” He further adds, “The integrative health field has been raising the red flag for years regarding the shift of medicating patients through pain rather than treating them through it.” As Dr. Rosa emphasizes, “There are 550,000 prescriptions for opioids written every day. The U.S. is 4% of the world’s population yet consumes 90% of all the opioids produced (prescription and illicit). 80% of heroin users say they started with prescription opioids, and over 160 people die of an overdose every day, making overdose deaths the leading cause of death for Americans under 50.” He adds, “Over 50% of the opioid prescriptions go to people with depression or other mood disorders and the overlap of heightened awareness of pain with mental health issues has been known and studied for decades. It is also understood that those who suffer with mental health issues and pain are much more susceptible to dependency and addiction than is the greater population.”

National Opioid Crisis Expert, Dynamic Speaker And Author, Dr. John RosaWrites About Two Powerful Addictions That Are At Epidemic Proportions In The U.S.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker writes about the current HBO Documentary, The Crime of the Century, which reviews the long history of enormous wealth made from the manufacturing, distributing and marketing of addictive drugs.

ROCKVILLE, MD. June 07, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new blog on his website entitled, Money Addicts Win – Drug Addicts And Their Families Lose,” in which Dr. Rosa shares some of his thoughts about the documentary, The Crime of The Century, on HBO.

Rosa states, “There’s an addiction war going on in this country.”  He elaborates, “It’s a war between money addicts and the people they are killing whom they refer to as “drug addicts.” Fact is,” he adds, “most of these “drug addicts” became addicted because the money addicts ran massive marketing campaigns urging doctors to prescribe the pills they make to as many people as they possibly could.” He emphasizes, “And to keep them coming back for more.”

As Rosa points out, “The money addicts make and push highly addictive drugs to the society at large.” He continues, “The money addicts get lots of money and the people get addicted to expensive drugs and when they can’t afford them turn to less expensive street drugs, then they die. For the pill buyers it’s a lose-lose situation. For the pill pushers, it’s win-win-win.”

“I just watched a documentary called The Crime of The Century streaming on HBO,” Rosa says  “which depicts how the opioid epidemic began and how deeply entrenched the greed is all the way up to the highest levels of government.” He goes on to write, “The all-pervasive lack of conscience and the hunger for money among the highly respected drug kingpins in this country makes me wonder if this epidemic can ever be reversed and brought to an end. At this very moment, I have my doubts.”

National Opioid Crisis Expert, Dynamic Speaker And Author, Dr. John Rosa Presents Statistics That Show The Mental Health Of The Nation Is Declining.

Dr. John P. Rosa, opioid crisis expert, author and dynamic speaker writes about the dramatic and consistent rise in deaths of despair through every age group and calls for urgently needed attention to address the issues that give rise to despair.

ROCKVILLE, MD. May 27, 2021: Dr. John Rosa, dynamic speaker, national opioid crises expert, and co-author of The Recipe for Success with Jack Canfield, posted a new article on his website entitled, “More And More People Are Dying As A Result Of Diseases Of Despair,” in which Dr. Rosa highlights the fact that diseases of despair are ultimately mental health diseases .

Dr. Rosa writes, “As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, I invite you to take into consideration that diseases of despair are killing more and more Americans in every age group each year.” He goes on to add, “Drug overdoses, alcoholism and suicide are among the most common diseases of despair. Not only are more people dying from “diseases of despair”, the life expectancy of men is going down dramatically as a result. According to the National Center for Health Statistics, in 2019, the life expectancy for American men “dropped for a third consecutive year.” They cited the “diseases of despair” as the reason for that increase.” https://www.cbsnews.com/news/life-expectancy-for-american-men-drops-for-a-third-year/

“You may find the term ‘disease of despair’ unusual,” says Dr. Rosa adding, “but let’s take a closer look. For starters, despair is defined as “the feeling that there is no hope and that you can do nothing to improve a difficult or worrying situation.” According to some sources, the formal category of ‘disease of despair’ refers to people who don’t just feel down, but actively seek out medical care for suicidal thoughts and substance abuse. But,” he emphasizes, “not everyone who suffers seeks medical care.”

According to Dr. Rosa, “Without question, we have already seen that the COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically increased feelings of despair throughout society.” He invites readers to, “bear this in mind as I review the results of a recent study in the peer-reviewed open access medical journal BMJ Open.” https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/10/10/e037679

“At the outset of the study in 2008,” Dr. Rosa states, “about 54% of the participants were diagnosed with an alcohol-related disorder, more than 44% were diagnosed with a substance-related disorder and more than 16% were diagnosed with suicidal thoughts/behaviors.” He adds, “Between 2009 and 2018, the rates of diagnoses of “diseases of despair” increased by 68%; the rate of alcohol-related diagnoses increased by 37%; substance related-diagnoses increased by 94%; and suicide-related diagnoses increased by 170%.”

Dr. Rosa provides many more statistics and in conclusion adds, “Let us keep the mental health of our nation uppermost in our minds as we continue our efforts to recover from the pandemic.”
